Bank of Bermuda regularly produces fund factsheets for their customers around the world that are available in both paper format and online.
The cycle of layout, proofing and printing was a mainly manual process, made more complicated by the fact that the bank needed to produce
slightly different versions for the web and for paper.
Bank of Bermuda selected Mekon to develop a database publishing process to streamline the production of written material.
Using Adobe FrameMaker to typeset the documents, Mekon produced a customised template for each page. The data could then be automatically
slotted into the correct position within the page. Once the information source and templates were set up, publishing became a point and click process.
Leanne Alami-Merrouni, marketing manager, Bank of Bermuda comments: "Getting timely information to our clients is very important to us.
Using traditional methods to maintain complex data for our publications was slow and expensive. The new system means that work that formerly
took two weeks can now be completed in a matter of days, and we can maintain accurate data right up to our publication deadline.
The production time and delivery to our clients has been dramatically reduced."
